It's quite simple really all you have to do is meditate then clear your mind.

After you have done this try feeling your own energy watch how it changes depending on your mood.

once you have done this afew times try it on other people!

this is a great way to get a read on other people so you can know if they are happy or sad or even dangerous before you even talk to them (works most of the time)

with enough practice it will become natural

I just thought I would post this technique because I consider it basic and it's easy to do and a great way to practice energy control and sensing which can come in handy when Astral projecting or having lucid dreams.

Energy has always played a key role in whether or not i was successful
with my OBE and LD techniques..
I can always feel whether or not my energy is high or low even before I
start. But I have always found it quite easy to increase this energy as I lie
in bed. Mostly I do this by focusing on 2 key chakra sources.
One is to concentrate on my deep breathing and relaxation.
The other is to listen to my heart beat through my pillow. With my eyes
closed as I peer into the darkness at night . I see moving colors and shapes
and I know that this is the visual manifestation of the energy that I am creating.
This energy is often used by myself to leave my body later on in the night.
